The youths living in slums have enormous potential, energy and enthusiasm to learn multiple skills and communicate their agony pain and slavery as experienced in their daily life. Their critical vision on the collective common experience because of enmeshed social hierarchies of caste, class and patriarchy inevitably has given new ways of articulation intertwined with their performing-arts skills. When they are given an opportunity to express through performing-arts, they surely can prove themselves.
We have started different verticals to impart these skills and identified youth who will be trained on:
⦁ Music
⦁ Dance
⦁ Film Making
⦁ Story Telling and Stand-up Comedy
Experienced and committed trainers are engaged in conducting two or three training sessions per week. As of now, more than 30 youth are involved actively in learning these art forms.
